Adaptive Kayaking - Our kayaking program offers options for everyone to enjoy the water. We have both single and tandem kayaks available. For athletes needing assistance with holding the paddle, we use a paddle pivot, and we have a transfer bench to help with getting in and out of the kayak. Additionally, we offer outriggers to enhance boat stability and a seating system that provides higher back and lateral support.

While paddling, we can tether the kayak to assist with steering and momentum. Our volunteers are trained to support and teach adaptive paddling, making the water accessible to everyone.

Adaptive Watersports

In collaboration with adaptivesportspartners.org we offer the following programs:

Adaptive Sailing - We have the only Tetra Craft sailboat available on the East Coast! The Tetra Craft is designed for higher-level disabled athletes to sail independently but can be used by anyone. It is controlled by either a joystick and sip-and-puff tube or two sip-and-puff tubes. The Tetra Craft also features a seating system to maximize support for the athlete. The instructor has a remote control to assist with teaching and ensure safety during the lesson.

The Tetra Craft uses a single sail that is easy and quick to learn. It also features outriggers for maximum stability on the water. If there is no wind, the Tetra Craft has a motor to help with getting around. Come try this unique sailboat and have a great time sailing!
