Chartered Lake Cruises
Sail the lake the easy way… let us take you on our boat! Newport Community Sailing Center’s Chartered Lake Cruises can accommodate up to four people on our 22’ Hunter 216 Sloop. Our crew will take you, and up to three friends, out for two-hour cruise*. Sit back and relax, or participate in sailing the boat… it’s your choice! See the lake from a whole new vantage point and enjoy the fresh air, views and beauty of Lake Memphremagog.
Cruises leave from The Eastside Restaurant/Marina. Check in at the Newport Community Sailing Center tent near the parking lot at the entrance of the to the “Newport Belle” dock, (Big Paddlewheel-looking boat).Please arrive 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled time.
Bring comfortable rubber-soled shoes (no flip-flops or shoes with black soles please). You should also bring sun screen, a light layer with sleeves and rain jacket or shell if there looks like any chance of rain. Being out on the lake is often much cooler temperatures than on land. You can also bring a cooler with snacks, water and beverages of your choice. Cooler should be a size that is easily carried from your car to the dock and loaded onto boat. Children under twelve-years-old must wear life preservers (PFDs), as per Vermont State Law. *Wind direction, wind speed, and weather will dictate the course we sail. We will sail out of Newport Harbor and up to the widest part of the lake with views of the islands and Jay Peak. It is possible, in ideal conditions, to sail thru the Twin Islands, to the Canadian border.
